How to Configure a Printer to Cut In-Between Pages on Windows

Introduction

This application note provides instructions for configuring a Star Micronics printer to cut between pages and test the cutter on Windows. These steps are intended for use when manually adjusting the receipt cutting behavior.

Supported Printers: All Star Desktop Thermal and Impact Printers
Supported Interfaces: N/A
Supported Environments: Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7

 

Before you begin

Important! Ensure that the printer is installed, configured and working on the Windows device.

Important! Margins, character fonts, and page formatting are primarily determined by the point-of-sale (POS) software, particularly when printing from iOS and Android devices. In some cases, the POS software may override manually configured settings. If the following steps are completed and the desired outcome is not achieved when printing from the POS system, please contact your software provider for further support.

 

Page Cut Settings with futurePRNT Driver

1. Click the Windows/Start Menu icon and open Settings.

2. Click “Bluetooth & devices” and select “Printers & scanners”.

3. Select the printer and click “Printer Properties”.

4. Select the “Device Settings” tab.

5. Under Installable Options, open the “Page Cut Type” menu and select “Partial Cut”.

6. Click “Apply” to confirm the changes.

7. To test, select the General tab and click “Print Test Page”. This will print a test receipt and open the cash drawer. Click “OK” to close the menu.
